Formula Renault 2.0
The Formula Renault 2.0 ALPS Championship is considered to be one of the most promising single-seater series for drivers seeking entry to the top flight of motorsport. The season takes place over seven weekends and consists of 16 races. The series is hosted by Formula 1 race tracks such as Spa-Francorchamps, Monza and the Red Bull Ring in Austria.
More than 40 talented youngsters from 20 different countries contest two or sometimes three races per weekend. Fans can follow the action live via internet streaming. The open-wheel Renault in question has a powerful four-cylinder 2.0-litre engine producing 210 horsepower with a maximum torque of 7,150rpm. The 500kg light formula cars comply with the stringent safety requirements of the FIA.
Success is well rewarded in Formula Renault 2.0, with the champion at the end of the season being invited to take a test drive in a Formula Renault 3.5 racing car. In addition, the champion’s Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup challenge in the following year receives full financial backing.
